So if I am making major updates to my WP Site located on the root and have set up another directory off of the root that contains all of my new updates, will WP Dolly Pro be able to clone the site located in the directory off of the root and be able to overwrite my existing directory on the root?

Maxx:

This looks like what I need, but I just want to make sure. What I want to do is copy (clone) my WordPress site so that I can install a new theme and make other changes as well - new pages, new categories, etc. I want to do all this without my site visitors seeing anything until it is done.

So if I clone my original site and make changes on the new site, can I then clone back the new site over the old one? Hope that question makes sense.

Thanks.

As long as you don't try anything spammy with your meta tags, they won't harm your search engine rankings. Just ensure that you are only including words that are relevant to the page content. Ideally all of those words would be included in the page text as well. Avoid repeating keywords too. If you get spammy, be prepared for penalties from the search engines in time.
